Hello Misfit!

I'm Ellen Ky, a native Texan serving in Downtown Dallas in the Design District. I have been a tamer of misfit hair for 9 years. My mission is to create hair styles that are simple, versatile, and curated to celebrate and embrace your natural texture.

I understand the pain that comes from having misfit hair. My head is a mixture of kinky, curly, and thick hair. I used to spend hours flat ironing and destroying my hair to get it smooth because I didn’t know how to work with it naturally. I like good hair days, but I don't want styling to be damaging or take all morning, as I’m sure you don’t want to either.

During your appointment, you can expect a thorough consultation and open communication to compose your effortless hairstyle. We'll talk about any of your hair challenges, and I'll suggest simple solutions you can do at home to maintain your look and keep your hair and scalp healthy. Using modern techniques, I will craft a total look for you with customized haircuts, hair color, and treatments. The result: Misfit hair made to fit only you.

A little about me- when I am not behind the chair, I can be found reading sci-fi novels on the couch or spending time with my fur babies and family. I love to make people laugh, but I don’t know any jokes, so I make up for it by being awkward. I intend to intend to pick up a hobby in the near future.
